#WeekendCoffeeShare – October 18, 2015

coffee shareIf you and I were having coffee right now … I would thank you for agreeing to meet so late.  Since it is late and I had a hectic weekend, I would probably opt for a cup of mint majesty herbal tea.  Very calming.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you I had an amazingly busy weekend that started out with a cocktail party for the state representative I work for; an off election year fundraiser.   It was held Friday night and I planned on writing my Follow Friday post when I got home that night.  Of course that didn’t happen, by the time I got home at 10 p.m. after having two glasses of Chardonnay I wanted to nap instead of write.  Hence the Day After Follow Friday post was born.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you about the social media workshop I attended this week.  It focused on LinkedIn profiles.  It is important to stand out from other profiles and address what is unique about you.  Since the bulk of my professional experience is in commercial real estate, my profile focuses on commercial real estate.  I have, however, been working on political campaigns as a campaign manager for the last two years and then there is this whole blogging thing.  Do I have separate profiles? No says the workshop leader.  I either have to pick one, basically decide what I want to be when I grow up or find a way to connect it  all and creatively represent myself.  I have decided I don’t want to be one thing so stay tuned for a report next month on how I creatively represent my story.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you that I started out Saturday morning at my niece Amber’s cheering competition.  It was the first time I went to a cheering competition and was happy it wasn’t an episode of Dance Moms; my family is more into basketball and softball so I’m not accustomed to having a cheerleader in the family.  Amber’s squad made it into the next round of the competition.  She is very excited to be one step closer to getting to the national competition in Florida.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you that after Amber’s competition my friend Sam and I met for lunch and some catching up.  Sam does her best to keep me focused and organized.  She is my sounding board.  We discussed my realization that I am not ever going to be/do just one thing any more.  I shared some of my business ideas and brainstormed some names.   We settled on sticks2bricks.com and before I could change my mind, Sam was on my laptop purchasing the domain name for me.  She is my not so silent partner in this business venture.  I have a deadline of six months to launch the new site.  I’m sure more details will follow in a future post.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you how I spent Sunday with my sister and my niece Jenny.  They had to go to their campsite in Maine to clean out the camper before winter.  We had freezing temperatures overnight so it felt like winter today.  We had lunch, got in some leaf peeping and Jenny and I snapped pictures of the scenery with our IPhones along the way.  Laughing as we missed shots and Jenny asking her mom to slow down get in the 45 mph lane so we can take pictures.  We even asked her to turn around on the interstate so we could go back and get a picture.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would show you the pictures I took of our Sunday afternoon excursion through Maine  and New Hampshire.

Well, I should get going,  Before you leave, please tell me in the comments what you would share with me  …

If you and I were having coffee right now …

  1. If you and I were having coffee right now I would firstly introduce myself! I would be telling you how much I’d be appreciating the coffee I’m drinking right now after a long and tiresome few weeks!
