Follow Friday – The Week Before Thanksgiving

FollowFriday

This week’s Follow Friday post focuses on posts tagged Thanksgiving.  With Thanksgiving less than a week away it is hard for me not to get excited.  So this week I want to share with you some blogs posting about Thanksgiving, some culinary focused and some thanksgiving focused.

I swear I gained five pounds just reading this post and looking at the pictures.  My mouth is watering.  I am definitely trying your mother’s sweet potato pie recipe and the yams are calling my name.  You didn’t include your banana pudding cake recipe in this round-up  but I found that post and will be trying it by Christmas.  Have a happy Thanksgiving!

My Comment:

Thanksgiving is so about the sides.  This recipe looks like a must try whether for Thanksgiving or another day.  I also like that you provided a link to your sweet potato recipe with the tip on timing. I think that’s one of the hardest things is getting all your dishes to be ready for the table at the same time..

My Comment:

I never quite understood why families have to make things so complicated.  I thought my other half’s family were the only ones who waited so long to announce plans and issue invites.  And, sadly sometimes not everyone makes the cut.  I’ve grown tired of the game and now make my own plans whether that is with my side of the family or not.  This year we made the cut, but opted out.  We have turkey, pie and Mom’s stuffing recipe – we are good to go.  Enjoy your Thanksgiving no matter where you celebrate it.
