Last week I wrote part one of this Follow Friday post explaining that I was participating in That’s So Jacob’s Ninth Month Blog Challenge after being nominated by Tikeetha T., the blogger over at A Thomas Point of View.
I know today is Saturday and by the very name of this post Follow Friday – Ninth Month Blog Challenge Part Two it is supposed to be posted on a Friday. Some weeks I would just wait to the following Friday but since this post is combined with a September challenge well that wouldn’t work very well since next Friday we will be into October already. Yesterday, I discovered this comment on my blog on my Writer’s Quote Wednesday – E E Cummings post from Tikeetha T., the blogger over at A Thomas Point of View:
I love these quotes. You’ve been chosen as one of today’s nine blogs in That’s So Jacob’s Ninth Month Blog Challenge. I challenge you to find nine blogs you find interesting and give them a comment to brighten their day…well, eight other blogs and mine 🙂 Copy this message in your comment and enjoy your new blog friends!
I went from smiling to panic mode in zero to sixty seconds. How was I going to participate in this challenge when I had a #FollowFriday post to write and a list of both blog-related and non-blog related things to do that was beginning to overwhelm me? Continue reading
It’s Friday! Yeah. I don’t know why I get so excited about Fridays. I’m unemployed, Mondays are no longer dreadful (at least for now). Fridays are just fun. My employed friends and family are excited for the weekend and that sometimes means free time we can spend together.
And, I get to write and post one of my favorite features – Follow Friday. I know I don’t have to wait until Fridays to write the post or even post it for that matter because WordPress does have a scheduling feature. My goal is always to write and schedule this feature on Wednesdays but like that never happens. It’s a good goal and I will keep trying. At least this week I found the blogs I want to feature on Wednesday and woke up today knowing which blogs I wanted to write about. That is progress and I will take it. Continue reading
My Follow Friday feature is all about community building so it is no accident that I found this week’s featured blog over at A Momma’s View blog party post to celebrate her recent Entertainer Blogger Award. It was in the comments section that I found Eli Pacheco of Coach Daddy, a blog as the tagline suggests is all about fatherhood, futbol and food; European futbol that is not American. Continue reading
To celebrate my second blogiversary I am featuring guest bloggers and writing a Follow Friday post every day this week leading up to my blogiversary on Saturday, August 15th. I want to celebrate the WordPress community as much a I want to celebrate the fact that after two years I am still blogging. To read more about my blogiversary go here.
Look for my blogiversary party post tomorrow.
It’s Friday. Hooray! The weather is beautiful as I sit on my front porch writing the last Follow Friday post of the week. Hooray, hooray! All week I’ve known that today’s Follow Friday post would feature a photography blog. I considered re-highlighting a photography blog that I had previously called attention to on my blog; either The Adventures of An Urban Flower Girl, which I first featured on my blog in October, or f-stopmama, which I featured on my blog in November and January, are worth visiting again.

Today’s Follow Friday post is about Community Building and I originally posted it on January 16th. I was having a hard time selecting just one blog to feature again so I decided to re-blog the entire post.
This week I decided to focus on blogs that I consider to be pillars of the WordPress community. Bloggers who not only focus on their own writing but consider promoting others and building a community here in the blogosphere to be an integral aspect of what they do as bloggers. They are bloggers who realize that just like in our physical lives our virtual lives in the blogosphere are enriched and made stronger by belonging to a community.
